African Long-fat-tailed
Special Characteristics: 
Body size is large (up to 50 kg); prominent forehead with convex profile in males; well developed pads of fat behind nostrils and behind polls in males; horns can be present or absent; when present they usually have only one twist; females are usually polled, but when horned they are usually straight and flat; ears are short and carried horizontally or slightly drooping; vestigial ears occur; well developed brisket; fat tail variable in length and shape; colour generally fawn, brown or red but black is also common; hair coat is short and stiff (Wilson, 1991).
Main Location: 
Limited to Zimbabwe; climate is semi-arid; the normal production system is agro-pastoral.
