Inhabits southern Zimbabwe.
Origin: 
This breed was developed from interbreeding of F1 crosses of selected Blackhead Somali ewes and imported Wiltshire Horn rams, and selecting for growth and mutton conformation and against wool and fat tail (Mason and Maule, 1960).
